The Heart Behind The Mask
Our very own Bryanna Normandeau was nominated for Brockville Councillor Jeff Earle’s Hearts Behind the Mask Award.
Bryanna has a huge heart. She has made sure all of our residents at Royal Brock Retirement and The Royal Suites have felt safe and supported during the pandemic and most important of all, she makes sure everyone is still having fun and that they feel loved and cared for. There is no one more deserving of this recognition.
Whether it’s making a dress of 1000 hand made poppies to honour our war brides and having active military salute our residents on Remembrance Day, baking hundreds of cookies, organizing a community parade or the immense attention to detail she puts into everything she does. There is never a task too big.
Her laughter fills our hallways and you can’t help but feel her warmth.
Bryanna has created “Operation Christmas Cheer”. Each year, she asks people to nominate families in need and she has a huge network of supportive businesses, friends and family who provide funds for the families so they have everything they could ever want to enjoy Christmas. They supply the meal, the tree, all of the gifts, decorations and even dog treats!
Bryanna is the first recipient of this award. It is well deserved!
Words from Bryanna:
Today I was completely and utterly surprised to receive the Heart Behind the Mask Award! Those who know me will tell you, I don’t get surprised!
I stepped out of the elevator to see not only my work family, but my Mom and oldest daughter as well! And I still had no idea what was going on!
Jeff Earle has created this wonderful program where he honours those in our community, who go above and beyond during trying times in the City of Brockville.
Today I was the first recipient of the award. I am very humbled to say the least. It takes a village to ensure that everyone in our community receives what they need to feel safe and cared for,
And I am very proud to be a member of the ‘Hearts Behind the Masks’ community today and everyday!
